The maturity that is described in the last stage of the Psalms of Ascent is different from the maturity we have seen in the previous stages. For example, the third stage, the stage of enjoyment, issued in a certain kind of maturity. However, that maturity was very individualistic. In the stage of enjoyment we became a blessing to the Body, and we were even appreciated by the other saints, but we may not have actually seen the Body. Instead, we felt that we ourselves were quite high and important.

Tomorrow: “Enlarged for a Greater Maturity”
Ouch! I DO struggle with feeling I am quite high and important. I so enjoy being able to share with the Body but then I am left with the emotional feeling that I did well and feel proud. DAILY I am before the Lord asking Him to forgive my pride and keep me close. Can’t wait to see tomorrow’s post (and to begin reading The Journey of Life) for help in my struggle. Your prayers for me are appreciated!
With the help of the Journey of Life, we cannot be
stationary at the stage of Enjoyment but struggle to the Enlarged maturity. God help us.
