What better way to understand the Bible than through the Scripture’s original language? The series in this column will make the original Hebrew and Greek languages of the Bible easy and approachable for us less scholarly types.
The New Testament contains over 5,000 unique Greek words. Of these, some are used repeatedly throughout the text and carry deep significance to our Christian life. In this study, we will look at some of the most important of these. For each word we will consider its modern definitions, iconic quotes from famous historical figures, how the word was used in the original culture and throughout the New Testament, and selected message quotes from the works of God’s servants in church history.
